Safeguarding has the highest priority in our academies and Trust as a whole.

Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play in safeguarding.
Working together to Safeguard Children 2018 (and factual updates) and the latest version of Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:

  • protecting children from maltreatment;
  • preventing impairment of children’s health or development;
  • ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and
  • taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

If you have concerns about a child’s safety at any time, please speak to your Academy’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.  This may be the Principal, Headteacher or another senior member of staff. They will do their very best to help. You can find the name of each school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead on their school websites.

Should you need to make contact with us at Trust level, our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Karen Burns, Chief Executive Officer.  Karen Burns can be contacted via the info@victoriousacademies.org e-mail address or via 0161 830 6964.  Please inform the person answering the telephone that you are calling with regard to a safeguarding matter.

In an emergency situation, or where the school is not in session, you may need to contact the local authority contact at Tameside, Derbyshire or the police.
